Valentina Améstica (Chile, 1994)
Lives and works in New York.
Artist and Graphic Designer, with studies in Graphic Design at Universidad Diego Portales (UDP) in Chile and in Fine Arts at Central Saint Martins in the UK.
In an experimental line, Valentina develops her work between printing, typography, graphics, art installations, and poetry. Her practice questions the infraordinary: the overlooked aspects of everyday life that lose their surprise due to repetition. Using images, objects, and words, she engages with the background noise of existence. She collects and re-signifies fragments of the environment—graphic remnants that have lost their original function. By transforming them, she creates new visual compositions that explore time, memory, and the fragility of the ephemeral.
In 2020, she was the winner of the ZAZ Contest ‘20 and exhibited her work in New York.
In 2024, she was selected as a Book Artist-in-Residence at the Center For Book Arts (NY) and was invited to Zagreb Design Week with Local Chile. She also presented her first solo exhibition, Relatos Pasajeros at Citylab, GAM.
In 2025, she presented her solo exhibition M.A.P.S. at Miriam Gallery in New York.
You can find her work at Naranja Publicaciones, Citylab, Center For Book Arts, Printed Matter, and Miriam Gallery.
